From concept to reality

JV International was born in 2013, thanks to the intuition, foresight and enthusiasm of an international team of men and women, driven by a passion for the world of footwear and many years of experience in the industry. Thus an “International Joint Venture” was born, which goal is to conceive solutions, technologies and compounds for “people in motion“.

Skills, passion and experience of JV International meet the MICHELIN brand’s desire to develop its business towards the footwear segment.

 “Soles are to people what tyres are to a vehicle“, the only thing that can connect to the ground during movement and performance. The next step in this story is therefore an almost natural consequence of the path taken. To debut already as a top player in the industry, MICHELIN decided early on to entrust JV International with the worldwide and exclusive license to design and manufacture soles under its own brand name.

Thus, from the synergistic convergence of these two realities, JVI-solesbyMICHELIN was born.

The company increases its activities and resources and is thus structured on two continents: in Europe (Italy), the headquarters in Tavernerio (Como) and the Research & Development – Design center in Verona are located; in Asia (Hong Kong), in the heart of the Far East market, JVI-Hong Kong is born.

2014

JV International introduced its first sole at the 2014 Eurobike fair, alongside Northwave. The coming years are full of goals. 

2015

JV International designed the sole with which Under Armour footwear won the “Outside Gear of the show 2015” award.

The consulting activity is inaugurated, the result of which is the conception and making of technological and highly specialized solutions for the “Work & Uniform” segment. The “combat boot“, intended for military operations in the jungle and the “Firefighter boot“, a footwear with innovative solutions for protection from water and fire, are thus created.

At the end of 2015, JV International owned 60 Patents.

2016

JV International designed the sole of the ULTRA TRAIN GTX, Salewa’s shoe that won the ISPO Award.

JV International founded the JVI-Repair division, with the aim of innovating the footwear repair market: giving new life and new shapes to products means rethinking footwear by introducing sustainability elements and creativity.

2017-2022

These years marked exponential growth and saw the achievement of numerous goals, among which we recall the following awards: the solutions conceived by JV International for Nordica, Mammut and Wildcountry are worth 3 prizes at ISPO MUNICH 2017; in 2018, “Gear Patrol Magazine” awarded the “The Best Hiking Boots 2018” award to Mammut footwear with a Michelin sole; JV International and Garmont won the «Editor’s Choice 2019» prize awarded by SKIALPER; in both 2020 and 2022 JV International returned to win the ISPO MUNICH AWARD with the Nordica and Winqs projects.

Furthermore, in 2021, the Chinese commercial branch JVI-China was founded.

2023

On April 23rd, JV International confirmed the position it has carved in the North American market, announcing the opening of JVI North America Corp with headquarters in Vermont.
The American company aims to strengthen and improve its position through a local technical-commercial presence. The goal is very specific: to be closer, more effective and more efficient in interpreting market and customer needs in the best possible way, in line with the Think Global-Act Local strategy.

2024

February 2024 marks the beginning of a new era for JV International. The formalization and announcement of the birth of NexX4™ (nexx4.jvinternational.com). NexX4™ is the new brand that identifies an incredible patented innovation, developed by the JVI-Engineering Business Unit. With NexX4™, JVI is changing the rules of the game, revolutionizing not only the world of soles but also the technical element for clothing and equipment. A new way of conceiving, designing, creating new technical solutions able to give answers to those limitations that had remained unresolved until now.

The evolution of
JV International

During its journey, JV International has acquired and expanded its knowledge in technical soles becoming a point of reference in the technical soles market, and so, creating in 2021 an independent business unit – JVI-Engineering – qualifying itself as the best partner for  for those footwear brands that want to develop their expertise through the quality and performance of their products.
